Hadith 1170
1170 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَعْجَبُوا كَيْفَ يَصْرِفُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنِّي شَتْمَ قُرَيْشٍ، وَلَعْنَهُمْ يَشْتُمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا، وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا، وَأنَا مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Are you not amazed at how Allah Almighty has turned away from me the abuse and cursing of the Quraysh? They criticize while abusing, they criticize while cursing, whereas I am Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) (i.e., the one who is praised).”
