Hadith 1138
1138 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ، فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ، وَالسَّامُ: الْمَوْتُ " قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «يَعْنِي الشُّونِيزَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "It is obligatory upon you to use this black seed, for in it there is a cure for every disease except 'sam'." (The narrator says:) "'Sam' means death, and the black seed refers to kalonji (Nigella sativa)."
