1131 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّي تُقَاتِلُوا قَوْمًا وُجُوهُهُمُ الْمَجَانُّ الْمُطْرَقَةُ، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّي تُقَاتِلُوا قَوْمًا نِعَالُهُمُ الشَّعْرُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until you fight against a people whose faces are like shields covered with leather, and the Hour will not be established until you fight against a people whose shoes are made of hair."

In this hadith, a prophecy is mentioned, which was fulfilled. This hadith refers to those people who declared unlawful things to be lawful. They were killed during the era of Mu'tasim in the regions of Tabaristan and Rayy. This incident occurred in the year 201 AH, or possibly before that. (Fath al-Bari: 19 / 147)
