Hadith 1081
1081 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيُّ إِلَي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَّ دَوْسًا قَدْ عَصَتْ وَأَبَتْ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهَا، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ هَلَكَتْ دَوْسٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا وَائْتِ بِهِمْ، مَرَّتَيْنِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Tufail bin Amr al-Dawsi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: O Messenger of Allah! The people of the tribe of Daws have disobeyed and refused to accept Islam. Pray to Allah against them. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face towards the Qiblah, raised his blessed hands, and prayed. The people said: The tribe of Daws will be destroyed. But the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: "O Allah! Guide the tribe of Daws and bring them to Islam." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made this supplication twice.
