Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of Yemen have come to you; they are soft-hearted and gentle-minded. Faith is Yemeni. Wisdom is Yemeni, while harshness, severity, and the hardness of hearts are found among the owners of camels belonging to the tribes of Banu Rabiah and Mudar." Sufyan says: The words of the narration "the people of Yemen have come to you" refer to the people of Tihamah, because Makkah is in Yemen and these are the people of Tihamah. The words of the hadith also indicate that faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni. (That is, the faith of the Yemeni people is strong.)
