Shaqiq bin Salamah narrates: We were sitting and waiting for Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), when Yazid bin Mu'awiyah Nakha'i came to us and said: "What is the matter?" We said: "We are waiting for Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him)." He asked: "Where do you think he would be?" We said: "He would be at home." He said: "Shall I go and call him for you?" The narrator says: So he went, and after a short while, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and stood by us, and Yazid bin Mu'awiyah was with him. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I was informed that you were sitting here, but I did not come out to you because I feared that I might cause you to become weary. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to preach to us at intervals of days, because he did not like to make us weary."
