Hadith 1057

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do not meet riders (traders) outside the market to buy their goods, and do not artificially raise prices, and a townsman should not sell on behalf of a villager. And no person should make a deal over his brother’s deal, and no person should send a marriage proposal over his brother’s proposal.”

Explanation & Benefits

Benefit:
Most of the issues mentioned in this hadith have already been discussed in the previous hadith (1052). In this hadith, one additional issue is mentioned, which is that when people bring goods from outside to the cities, it is not permissible for some individuals to meet them on the way and purchase their goods while keeping them unaware of the market prices. Islam does not cause harm to anyone; rather, it is a religion of justice.
