Hadith 1049

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some women said: O Messenger of Allah! When you sit with the men, we cannot be present there. If you could appoint a time for us in which we could come to you (that would be appropriate). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You should gather in the house of such-and-such woman.” The women would come there at the specified time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also came there. In the conversation the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had with those women, he also said: “Any woman whose three children die and she hopes for reward, she will enter Paradise.” A woman asked: O Messenger of Allah! What if someone has two (children who die)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(If there are two) then the same reward will be attained.”

Benefit:
This hadith proves that there should be a separate arrangement for women’s classes, even if the class is held only one day a week. In this, there is a strong evidence of the eagerness of the female Companions (radi Allahu anhunna) for knowledge. It is unfortunate that today’s women are distant from the knowledge of the Qur’an and Hadith, and do not possess such eagerness for knowledge.

Furthermore, this hadith also proves that if a child dies in childhood, it will be a glad tiding for the parents and will become a means for the parents to enter Paradise. In gatherings of women, issues related specifically to them should be discussed.
