Hadith 1029

1029 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ، وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ، اللَّهُمَّ أَرْشِدِ الْأَئِمَّةَ، وَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذَّنِينَ»

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He learned of this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "The imam is a guarantor and the muezzin is trustworthy. O Allah! Guide the imams and forgive the callers to prayer."
