Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every prayer in which Surah Al-Fatihah is not recited is incomplete. It is incomplete. It is incomplete." The narrator named Abdur Rahman says: I asked Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): Sometimes I am listening to the recitation of the Imam (what should I do at that time?) So he struck his hand and said: "O Farsi (the narrator is doubtful, perhaps these are the words) son of Farsi! You should recite it in your heart."
