حَدِیث ذِی الاَصَابِعِ
Hadith of Dhu al-Asabi'
Hadith 16632
(حديث مرفوع) قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد : حدثني أَبُو صَالِحٍ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ ذِي الْأَصَابِعِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنْ ابْتُلِينَا بَعْدَكَ بِالْبَقَاءِ أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنَا ؟ ، قَالَ : " عَلَيْكَ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ، فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَنْشَأَ لَكَ ذُرِّيَّةٌ يَغْدُونَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَسْجِدِ وَيَرُوحُونَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhi al-Asabi’ that once he submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! If after you we are tested with further life, where do you command us to reside? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Make Bayt al-Maqdis obligatory upon yourselves, for it may be that a generation will be born among you who will come and go to this mosque morning and evening.
