حَدِیث ذِی اللِّحیَةِ الكِلَابِیِّ
Hadith of Dhu al-Lihyah al-Kilabi
Hadith 16630
(حديث مرفوع) قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ يَعْنِي الْحَدَّادَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ ذِي اللِّحْيَةِ الْكِلَابِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَنَعْمَلُ فِي أَمْرٍ مُسْتَأْنَفٍ ، أَوْ أَمْرٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ ؟ ، قَالَ : " لَا ، بَلْ فِي أَمْرٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ : فَفِيمَ نَعْمَلُ إِذًا ؟ ، قَالَ : " اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhi al-Lihyah al-Kalabi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he once submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! Do we initiate any action or has it already been written beforehand? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, it has already been written beforehand. He asked: Then what is the benefit of action? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You should continue to act, for every person will find easy only those deeds for which he was created.
Hadith 16631
(حديث مرفوع) قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ الْعَدَوِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ ذِي اللِّحْيَةِ الْكِلَابِيِّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَنَعْمَلُ فِي أَمْرٍ مُسْتَأْنَفٍ ، أَوْ فِي أَمْرٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ ؟ ، قَالَ : " بَلْ فِي أَمْرٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ : فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : " اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ " .
