Hadith 16602
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the year of the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed the people to break their fast, saying: "Gain strength for your enemy." However, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself kept the fast. During this time, someone informed him, "O Messenger of Allah! When the people saw you fasting, some of them also kept the fast." So, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the place of Kudayd, he broke his fast. The narrator says: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the place of ‘Arj pouring water over his head due to thirst or heat.
