Hadith 16409
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ : " أَرِقَّاءَكُمْ أَرِقَّاءَكُمْ أَرِقَّاءَكُمْ ، أَطْعِمُوهُمْ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ ، وَاكْسُوهُمْ مِمَّا تَلْبَسُونَ ، فَإِنْ جَاءُوا بِذَنْبٍ لَا تُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَغْفِرُوهُ ، فَبِيعُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ ، وَلَا تُعَذِّبُوهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Yazid narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace be upon him), while addressing during the Farewell Pilgrimage, said three times: Take care of your slaves; feed them what you eat, clothe them with what you wear. If they make a mistake which you cannot forgive, O servants of Allah, sell them, but do not punish them.
