Hadith 16225
It is narrated in a mawquf form from Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir that when any one of you breaks his fast, he should break his fast with dates. If dates are not available, then he should break his fast with water, for water is purifying.

الرَّبَابِ ، عَنْ عَمِّهَا
سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ ، فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى مَاءٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ طَهُورٌ " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) " وَمَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتُهُ ، فَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى ، وَأَرِيقُوا عَنْهُ دَمًا ، وَالصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى ذِي الْقَرَابَةِ ثِنْتَانِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir in a mawquf form that when any of you breaks his fast, he should break it with dates; if he does not find dates, then he should break it with water, for water is purifying. Upon the birth of a boy, perform 'aqiqah; remove impurities and sacrifice an animal on his behalf. And giving charity to close relatives has double the reward: one for charity and the other for maintaining family ties.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Spending on a poor person is a single charity, and giving charity to close relatives has a double reward—one for charity and the other for maintaining family ties.
