حَدِيثُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Hamzah ibn Amr Al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 16034
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَّرَهُ عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ ، فَخَرَجْتُ فِيهَا ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ فُلَانًا فَأَحْرِقُوهُ بِالنَّارِ " , فَلَمَّا وَلَّيْتُ نَادَانِي ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ أَخَذْتُمُوهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُعَذِّبُ بِالنَّارِ إِلَّا رَبُّ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed him as the leader of a detachment. When I was about to depart, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you succeed in capturing such-and-such person, then burn him in the fire. When I turned my back, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: If you find him, then only kill him (do not burn him in the fire), because only the Lord of the Fire can punish with fire.
Hadith 16035
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزِّنَادِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيِّ صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ وَرَهْطًا مَعَهُ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ عُذْرَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَى فُلَانٍ ، فَأَحْرِقُوهُ بِالنَّارِ " , فَانْطَلَقُوا حَتَّى إِذَا تَوَارَوْا مِنْهُ نَادَاهُمْ أَوْ أَرْسَلَ فِي أَثَرِهِمْ ، فَرَدُّوهُمْ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنْ أَنْتُمْ قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ ، وَلَا تُحْرِقُوهُ بِالنَّارِ ، فَإِنَّمَا يُعَذِّبُ بِالنَّارِ رَبُّ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed him as the leader of a detachment. Hadith 16036
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادٌ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزِّنَادِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ عَلَيٍّ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيِّ صَاحِبَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ وَرَهْطًا مَعَهُ سَرِيَّةً إِلَى رَجُلٍ ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 16037
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ شِئْتَ صُمْتَ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَفْطَرْتَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ruling of fasting while traveling: so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you wish, then fast, and if you wish, then do not fast.
Hadith 16038
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا عَلَى جَمَلٍ يَتْبَعُ رِحَالَ النَّاسِ بِمِنًى ، وَنَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَاهِدٌ ، وَالرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ : لَا تَصُومُوا هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامَ ، فَإِنَّهَا أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ . قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : فَذَكَرَ لَنَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ الْمُنَادِي كَانَ بِلَالًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami that he saw a man riding a wheat-colored camel who was going through the tents of the people in Mina. The Prophet (ﷺ) was also watching, and the man was saying: "Do not fast on these days, for these are days of eating and drinking." The narrator of the hadith, Qatadah, says that it was mentioned to us that this announcer was Sayyiduna Bilal.
Hadith 16039
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " عَلَى ظَهْرِ كُلِّ بَعِيرٍ شَيْطَانٌ ، فَإِذَا رَكِبْتُمُوهَا ، فَسَمُّوا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، ثُمَّ لَا تُقَصِّرُوا عَنْ حَاجَاتِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is a devil on the back of every camel, so when you mount it, do so by taking the name of Allah, and then do not be negligent in fulfilling your needs."
