It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabah bin Rabi’ that once he set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for a battle. Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid was appointed over the vanguard. During this time, the companions passed by a woman who had been killed by the vanguard. They stopped and began to marvel at her beauty. Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also arrived there on his mount. The people made way for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped by her body and said: "She would not have participated in the fighting." Then he said to a companion: "Go to Khalid and tell him not to kill children and laborers."
