It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ubaid that once he cooked meat in a pot for the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Give me its foreleg." So I took it out and gave it to him. After a little while, the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked for the second and third (foreleg), and I gave those as well. After a little while, the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked again. I said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon you), how many forelegs does a goat have?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if you had remained silent, forelegs would have continued to come out of that pot as long as you kept taking them out."
