حَدِيثُ سَوَادَةَ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Suwadah ibn al-Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 15961
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُرَجَّى بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْيَشْكُرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَلْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَوَادَةَ بْنَ الرَّبِيعِ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَأَمَرَ لِي بِذَوْدٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي : " إِذَا رَجَعْتَ إِلَى بَيْتِكَ ، فَمُرْهُمْ فَلْيُحْسِنُوا غِذَاءَ رِبَاعِهِمْ ، وَمُرْهُمْ فَلْيُقَلِّمُوا أَظْفَارَهُمْ ، وَلَا يَعْبِطُوا بِهَا ضُرُوعَ مَوَاشِيهِمْ إِذَا حَلَبُوا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suwadah bin Rabi that once I presented myself before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and requested some assistance. The Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered that a camel be given to me. Then he said to me: When you return home, instruct your family to keep good quality seeds for sowing, to cut their nails, and when milking animals, not to injure the teats of the animals with their nails so that they become bloodied.
