Hadith 15942
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : نَادَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ : أَفِيكُمْ أُوَيْسٌ الْقَرَنِيُّ ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُوُل : " إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ التَّابِعِينَ أُوَيْسًا الْقَرَنِيَّ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila says that on the day of the Battle of Siffin, a man from Syria called out, "Is Owais Qarni among you?" The people said, "Yes." Upon this, he said, "I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say that the best person among the Tabi'in is Owais Qarni."
