Hadith of a man from his father (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 15937
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ كَانَ قَدِيمًا مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ كَانَ فِي عَهْدِ عُثْمَانَ ، رَجُلٌ يُخْبِرُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اكْتُبْ لِي كِتَابًا أَنْ لَا أُؤَاخَذَ بِجَرِيرَةِ غَيْرِي , فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَكَ وَلِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " .
An elderly man from Banu Tamim narrated from his father that during the blessed era of Sayyiduna Uthman, he met the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Write for me a document stating that I should not be held accountable for someone else's crime. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: This ruling is for you and for every Muslim.
