Hadith of Ma'qil ibn Sinan from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 15901
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ مِنْهُمْ الْحَسَنُ ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : مَرَّ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أَحْتَجِمُ فِي ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً خَلَتْ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Sinan that once, on the eighteenth night of Ramadan, I was having cupping done when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me. Seeing me in that state, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one who performs cupping and the one who gets it done, both their fasts are broken.
