حَدِيثُ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Mujashi' ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 15847
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي شَيْبَانَ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِابْنِ أَخٍ لَهُ يُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا ، بَلْ يُبَايِعُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ ، وَيَكُونُ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ بِإِحْسَانٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud that he brought his nephew to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) so that he could pledge allegiance for Hijrah. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: No, he will pledge allegiance for Islam, because after the conquest of Makkah, the command of Hijrah no longer remains, and he will be one who follows goodness.
Hadith 15848
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : انْطَلَقْتُ بِأَخِي مَعْبَدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، بَايِعْهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَضَتْ الْهِجْرَةُ لِأَهْلِهَا " ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : فَمَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : " عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَالْجِهَادِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud that after the conquest of Makkah, he brought his nephew to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Take his pledge for migration. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After the conquest of Makkah, the command of migration no longer remains. I said: Then for what should he pledge? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For Islam and Jihad.
Hadith 15849
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْبَهْزِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِابْنِ أَخِيهِ لِيُبَايِعَهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ , فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا ، بَلْ يُبَايِعُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ " ، قَالَ : " وَيَكُونُ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ بِإِحْسَانٍ " .

Hadith 15850
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَذَا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ ، قَالَ : " لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ ، وَلَكِنْ أُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud that once I submitted: O Messenger of Allah! This is Majal ibn Mas‘ud who wants to pledge allegiance to you for migration. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After the conquest of Makkah, the command of migration no longer remains, but I take his pledge of allegiance for Islam.
Hadith 15851
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمْتُ بِأَخِي مَعْبَدٍ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، جِئْتُكَ بِأَخِي لِتُبَايِعَهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الْهِجْرَةِ بِمَا فِيهَا " , فَقُلْتُ : عَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تُبَايِعُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَالْإِيمَانِ وَالْجِهَادِ " . قَالَ : فَلَقِيتُ مَعْبَدًا بَعْدُ وَكَانَ هُوَ أَكْبَرُهُمَا فَسَأَلْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : صَدَقَ مُجَاشِعٌ .
