Hadith of Abdur Rahman ibn Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 15757
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : " ذَكَرَ طَبِيبٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَوَاءً ، وَذَكَرَ الضُّفْدَعَ يُجْعَلُ فِيهِ ، فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَتْلِ الضُّفْدَعِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Uthman that once a physician mentioned a medicine before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him that he includes parts of a frog in it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the frog.
