Hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 15702
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِنَا وَأَنَا صَبِيٌّ , قَالَ : فَذَهَبْتُ أَخْرُجُ لِأَلْعَبَ ، فَقَالَتْ أُمِّي : يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ , تَعَالَ أُعْطِكَ , فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَمَا أَرَدْتِ أَنْ تُعْطِيَهُ ؟ " قَالَتْ : أُعْطِيهِ تَمْرًا , قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَا إِنَّكِ لَوْ لَمْ تَفْعَلِي كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْكِ كَذْبَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Aamir that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to our house. At that time, I was a child and was about to go outside to play. My mother said to me, "Abdullah, come here, I will give you something." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What do you intend to give him?" She replied, "I will give him a date." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you had not given it to him, a lie would have been written against you."
