Hadith of Bishr or Bashr from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 15658
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ هُوَ أَبُو بِشْرٍ السُّلَمِيّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ نَارٌ مِنْ حُبْسِ سَيَلٍ ، تَسِيرُ سَيْرَ بَطِيئَةِ الْإِبِلِ ، تَسِيرُ النَّهَارَ وَتُقِيمُ اللَّيْلَ ، تَغْدُو وَتَرُوحُ ، يُقَالُ : غَدَتْ النَّارُ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ فَاغْدُوا ، قَالَتْ النَّارُ : أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، فَأَقِيلُوا ، رَاحَتْ النَّارُ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، فَرُوحُوا مَنْ أَدْرَكَتْهُ أَكَلَتْهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bishr or Basr that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon a fire will emerge from Habas Sail which will move like the slowest camel; it will travel during the day and halt at night. This will continue morning and evening. It will be announced: O people, the fire has started, so you should also move on. The fire will say: O people, take your midday rest; the fire has started, so you should also move on. Whoever gets caught in its grasp, it will consume him.
