It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh that a woman came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My husband has gone to participate in jihad. I used to follow him in prayer and every other deed. Now, please tell me of an act that will make me reach his rank, because I cannot participate in jihad until he returns." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Is it possible for you to always remain standing in prayer, never sitting down, to always fast, never missing a day, and to always remember Allah, never being heedless, until he returns?" She replied, "O Messenger of Allah! This is not possible for me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, even if you had the strength to do all this, you would still not reach even a tenth of his deeds until he returns."

During that time, people blocked the paths, so the Prophet (ﷺ) sent a caller to announce: Whoever narrows a resting place or blocks a path, his jihad is of no value."
