Hadith 15560
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " غَدْوَةٌ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Going out in the way of Allah for one morning or one evening is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 15561
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ الرِّجَالَ تَقِيلُ وَتَتَغَدَّى يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have seen those people who would take a midday nap and eat food on the day of Jumu’ah.
Hadith 15562
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ الرِّجَالَ عَاقِدِي أُزُرِهِمْ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ ، أَمْثَالَ الصِّبْيَانِ مِنْ ضِيقِ الْأُزُرِ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ : يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ , لَا تَرْفَعْنَ رُءُوسَكُنَّ حَتَّى يَرْفَعَ الرِّجَالُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have seen those people who, due to the narrowness of their lower garments, used to tie knots of their garments around their necks like children, and they used to pray behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this state. One day, someone said: O group of women, do not raise your heads from prostration until the men have raised their heads.
Hadith 15563
(حديث مرفوع) قال عبد الله بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيَّ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ الْأَصْلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَلَمَوْضِعُ سَوْطِ أَحَدِكُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Going out in the way of Allah for a morning or an evening is better than the world and whatever is in it, and the place of a whip of any person in Paradise is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 15564
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In Paradise, the place of a whip belonging to any person is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 15565
(حديث مرفوع) قال عبد الله بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ أَبُو بَكْر ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَغَدْوَةٌ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .

(حديث مرفوع) قال عبد الله بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَاصِمُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ الْمَدَنِيِّ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " غَدْوَةٌ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَمَوْضِعُ سَوْطِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .

Hadith 15567
(حديث مرفوع) قال عبد الله بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنِي سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَأَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَلَغَدْوَةٌ يَغْدُوهَا الْعَبْدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Going out in the way of Allah for a morning or an evening is better than the world and whatever is in it, and the place of a whip of any person in Paradise is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 15568
(حديث مرفوع) قال عبد الله بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيّ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النُّمَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " غَدْوَةٌ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Going out in the way of Allah for one morning or one evening is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 15569
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " غَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَرَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَمَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Going out in the way of Allah for a morning or an evening is better than the world and whatever is in it, and the place of a whip of any person in Paradise is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 15570
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ , عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 15571
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ , وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " غَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَرَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَمَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ , خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .

(حديث مرفوع) قال عبد الله بن أحمد : حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَمْلَاهُ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كان يقول : " رَوْحَةٌ سبيل الله أو غَدْوَة , خيرٌ من الدُّنيا وما فيها " وأن رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : " مَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
