It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabbar bin Sakhr that once, on the way back from Makkah Mukarramah, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Who will reach the place called Asayah before us?" This was the place where the Prophet (ﷺ) had sent us to take possession of the pond and keep it filled until we arrived. I presented myself. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You go." So I set out, and upon reaching the place of Asayah, I took possession of the pond and filled it with water. Then my eyes became heavy and I fell asleep. My eyes opened because of a man whose mount was slipping from his hand; he was trying to stop it from the pond. He said: "O keeper of the pond, reach your pond." When I looked, it was the Prophet (ﷺ). I said: "Very well." Then when the Prophet (ﷺ) reached the bank, I took hold of the she-camel's reins and made it sit down. The Prophet (ﷺ) called for a vessel and performed ablution thoroughly. I also performed ablution, and the Prophet (ﷺ) stood and began to offer the Isha prayer. According to his narration, Sayyiduna Jabbar was standing on the left side of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) took him by the hand and made him stand on his right side, and we continued to pray until the people arrived.
