Hadith 15456
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْحُوَيْرِثِ حَفْصٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ كَعْبٍ , عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ كَرْدَمٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهَا كَرْدَمِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنْ نَذْرٍ نُذِرَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلِوَثَنٍ أَوْ لِنُصُبٍ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، وَلَكِنْ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى ، قَالَ : " فَأَوْفِ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى مَا جَعَلْتَ لَهُ ، انْحَرْ عَلَى بُوَانَةَ ، وَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Kurdam bin Sufyan says that he asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about the ruling of a vow which he had made during the time of ignorance. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: Did you make that vow for any idol or stone? He replied: No, rather I made it for Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then fulfill the vow you made for Allah; slaughter an animal at the place called Bawna and fulfill your vow.
