Hadith 15424
Humaid says that in Makkah Mukarramah there was a man whose name was Yusuf. He says: I and another man from the Quraysh used to look after the wealth of orphans. During this time, a man took one thousand dirhams from me. Later, I came across one thousand dirhams of his from somewhere. I mentioned to my Qurayshi companion: So-and-so man took one thousand dirhams from me, now I have found his one thousand dirhams from somewhere, so what should I do? The Qurayshi replied: My father told me this hadith, that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Return the trust to the one who entrusted it to you, and do not betray the one who betrays you."
