Hadith 15402
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ , قَالَ : كَانَ لَهُمْ غُلَامٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ : طَهْمَانُ أَوْ ذَكْوَانُ ، فَأَعْتَقَ جَدُّهُ نِصْفَهُ ، فَجَاءَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُعْتَقُ فِي عِتْقِكَ ، وَتُرَقُّ فِي رِقِّكَ " , قَالَ : وَكَانَ يَخْدِمُ سَيِّدَهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ : وَكَانَ عْمَرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَوْشَبٍ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا .
It is narrated from Ismail's grandfather that he had a slave whose name was Tahman or Dhakwan. He set him half free. The slave came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "You are free in your freedom and a slave in your slavery." Thus, he continued to serve his master until his master's death.
Hadith 15403
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَامِرُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ رُسْتُمَ الْمُزَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : أَوْ ابْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا نَحَلَ وَالِدٌ وَلَدَهُ ، أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَدَبٍ حَسَنٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Saeed that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No father has given his children a better gift than good manners.
Hadith
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَالْقَوَارِيرِيُّ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرُ بْنُ أَبِي عَامِرٍ بِإِسْنَادِهِ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
