Ahadith of Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 15391
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ السَّائِبِ كَانَ يَقُودُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَيُقِيمُهُ عِنْدَ الشِّقَّةِ الثَّالِثَةِ ، مِمَّا يَلِي الْبَابَ مِمَّا يَلِي الْحَجَرَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَعْنِي الْقَائِلُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ : " يَقُومُ هَاهُنَا ، أَوْ يُصَلِّي هَاهُنَا " , فَيَقُولُ : نَعَمْ ، فَيَقُومُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَيُصَلِّي .
It is narrated that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib was the guide of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas. He would bring him and make him stand in the third row near the Black Stone in front of the door of the Ka’bah. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas would ask him whether the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to stand or pray here. When he replied in the affirmative, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas would stand there and pray.
Hadith 15392
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَّى يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ ، فَوَضَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ " ، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : سَمِعْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ أَبِي ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he took off his sandals and placed them on his left side.
Hadith 15393
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فِي الْفَجْرِ , فَقَرَأَ بِسُورَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ ذِكْرَ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ أَصَابَتْهُ سَعْلَةٌ فَرَكَعَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began the Fajr prayer on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he recited Surah Al-Mu’minun in it. But when he reached the mention of Sayyiduna Musa and Harun, he began to cough, so he shortened the recitation and went into bowing (ruku’).
Hadith 15394
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ , قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ , وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ الْعَابِدِيُّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ : فَافْتَتَحَ سُورَةً الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَى ذِكْرِ مُوسَى , وَهَارُونَ ، أَوْ ذِكْرِ عِيسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ يَشُكُّ ، فَاخْتَلَفُوا عَلَيْهِ أَخَذَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَعْلَةٌ فَرَكَعَ ، قَالَ : وَابْنُ السَّائِبِ حَاضِرُ ذَلِكَ .

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , وَرَوْحٌ , قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو , قَالَ رَوْحٌ : ابْنُ الْعَاصِ , وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ الْعَابِدِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ , قَالَ : " صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، الصُّبْحَ بِمَكَّةَ فَاسْتَفْتَحَ سُورَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ ذِكْرُ مُوسَى , وَهَارُونَ ، أَوْ ذِكْرُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ رَوْحٌ : مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ يَشُكُّ ، وَاخْتَلَفُوا عَلَيْهِ , أَخَذَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَعْلَةٌ ، فَحَذَفَ فَرَكَعَ " , قَالَ : وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ السَّائِبِ حَاضِرُ ذَلِك .

Hadith 15396
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ بْنُ أَبِي الْوَضَّاحِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الجَزَري ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ بَعْدَ الزَّوَالِ أَرْبَعًا ، وَيَقُولُ : إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ ، فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ أُقَدِّمَ فِيهَا عَمَلًا صَالِحًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray four rak‘ahs after the sun had passed its zenith and before the Zuhr prayer, and he used to say that at this time the gates of the heavens are opened, so I wish that a righteous deed of mine be raised up at this time.
Hadith 15397
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ حَدَّثَنِي حَدِيثًا رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، قَالَ : " حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ ، وَصَلَّى فِي قِبَلِ الْكَعْبَةِ ، فَخَلَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ فَوَضَعَهُمَا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَفْتَحَ سُورَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ ذِكْرُ عِيسَى أَوْ مُوسَى ، أَخَذَتْهُ سَعْلَةٌ فَرَكَعَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began the Fajr prayer on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he recited Surah Al-Mu’minun in it. Hadith 15398
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , وَرَوْحٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى السَّائِبِ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ السَّائِبِ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : فِيمَا بَيْنَ رُكْنَيْ بَنِي جُمَحَ وَالرُّكْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ , " رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً ، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reciting this supplication between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone: "Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire."
Hadith 15399
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ الْيَمَانِي وَالْحَجَرِ ، " رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً ، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ " , قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ , وَرَوْحٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ , إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : فِيمَا بَيْنَ رُكْنِ بَنِي جُمَحَ وَالرُّكْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ : " رَبَّنَا آتِنَا " .
