Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me some words which I recite in the Qunoot supplication of Witr, and they are: «اَللّٰهُمَّاهْدِنِيفِيمَنْهَدَيْتَوَعَافِنِيفِيمَنْعَافَيْتَوَتَوَلَّنِيفِيمَنْتَوَلَّيْتَوَبَارِكْلِيفِيمَاأَعْطَيْتَوَقِنِيشَرَّمَاقَضَيْتَفَإِنَّكَتَقْضِيوَلَايُقْضَىعَلَيْكَإِنَّهُلَايَذِلُّمَنْوَالَيْتَتَبَارَكْتَرَبَّنَاوَتَعَالَيْتَ» "O Allah! Guide me among those whom You have guided, grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, take me into Your care among those whom You have taken into Your care, bless for me what You have given me, protect me from the evil of what You have decreed, for surely You decree and none can decree over You, and whomever You befriend cannot be humiliated. You are Most Blessed, our Lord, and Most Exalted."

Habeerah narrates that once, while delivering a sermon before us, Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Yesterday, a person has departed from you such that those before him could not surpass him in knowledge, and those after him will not even reach the dust of his feet. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to send him with his banner; Jibreel (peace be upon him) would be on his right side and Mikaeel (peace be upon him) on his left, and he would not return without achieving victory."

Habeerah reports that once, our master Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon before us and said: "Yesterday, a person has departed from you such that those before him could not surpass him in knowledge, and those after him will not even reach his dust. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give him his banner and send him forth, and he would not return without achieving victory. He did not leave behind any gold or silver in his inheritance, except for seven hundred dirhams from his stipend, which he had set aside for a servant in his household."

Muhammad bin Ali says that once a funeral passed by, people stood up but Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) did not stand up, and said: "What are you doing? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only used to stand up because he was troubled by the stench of that Jew whose funeral was passing by."

Abu’l-Hawra Sa‘di says: I asked Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), “Do you remember any sayings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?” He replied, “I remember that once I picked up a date from the charity and put it in my mouth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took it out along with my saliva and put it back with the other dates. A man said, ‘If he had eaten this one date, what would have happened? Would you have let him eat it?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘We do not eat from charity.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to say: ‘Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt. Truthfulness brings tranquility, and lying brings doubt.’ Likewise, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّاهْدِنِيفِيمَنْهَدَيْتَوَعَافِنِيفِيمَنْعَافَيْتَوَتَوَلَّنِيفِيمَنْتَوَلَّيْتَوَبَارِكْلِيفِيمَاأَعْطَيْتَوَقِنِيشَرَّمَاقَضَيْتَإِنَّهُلَايَذِلُّمَنْوَالَيْتَوَرُبَّمَاقَالَتَبَارَكْتَرَبَّنَاوَتَعَالَيْتَ» ‘O Allah!
