Hadith of Habibah bint Sahl (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27444
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ , مَالِكٌ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ , أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ , عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ , قَالَتْ : إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ , وَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصُّبْحِ , فَوَجَدَ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ سَهْلٍ عَلَى بَابِهِ بِالْغَلَسِ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ هَذِهِ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : أَنَا حَبِيبَةُ بِنْتُ سَهْلٍ , فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا لَكِ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : لَا أَنَا , وَلَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ , لِزَوْجِهَا , فَلَمَّا جَاءَ ثَابِتٌ , قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَذِهِ حَبِيبَةُ بِنْتُ سَهْلٍ قَدْ ذَكَرَتْ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَذْكُرَ " , قَالَتْ حَبِيبَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , كُلُّ مَا أَعْطَانِي عِنْدِي , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِثَابِتٍ : " خُذْ مِنْهَا " , فَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا , وَجَلَسَتْ فِي أَهْلِهَا .
It is narrated from Habibah bint Sahl (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was married to Thabit bin Qais bin Shamas. Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out for the Fajr prayer and found Habibah bint Sahl at the door of the house in the darkness before dawn. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "Who is it?" She replied: "I am Habibah bint Sahl." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "What is the matter?" She said that she and Thabit bin Qais (her husband) could not live together. When Thabit came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him that Habibah bint Sahl had come and mentioned something. Habibah said: "O Messenger of Allah! Whatever he gave me is all with me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Thabit: "Take those things from her." So Thabit took those things, and Habibah went and sat in her house.
