It is narrated from Hazrat Durrah bint Abi Lahab (may Allah be pleased with her) that once I was with Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "Bring me water for ablution." Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and I both hurried towards a vessel, I reached it first and brought it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and, raising his gaze, said to me: "You are from me and I am from you." Then a man was brought, he said: I did not do this, rather people had told me. He had asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) this question from the pulpit: Who among the people is the best? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The one who has the most understanding of Allah's religion and the one who maintains the most ties of kinship."
