حَدِيثُ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27420
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ , عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ , قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ , فَقَالَ : " هَلْ مِنْ طَعَامٍ ؟ " , قُلْتُ : لَا , إِلَّا عَظْمًا أُعْطِيَتْهُ مَوْلَاةٌ لَنَا مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ , قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَقَرِّبِيهِ , فَقَدْ بَلَغَتْ مَحِلَّهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my house and asked: "Do you have anything?" I replied: No, except that Naseebah has sent us a portion of the same goat which you had sent to her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It has reached its destination, now bring it."
Hadith 27421
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آل طَلْحَةَ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ كُرَيْبًا يُحَدِّثُ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ , قَالَتْ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى جُوَيْرِيَةَ بَكَرًا , وَهِيَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ تَدْعُو , ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَيْهَا قَرِيبًا مِنْ نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ , فَقَالَ : " مَا زِلْتِ عَلَى حَالِكِ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ , قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكِ كَلِمَاتٍ تَعْدِلُهُنَّ بِهِنَّ , وَلَوْ وُزِنَ بِهِنَّ وُزِنَ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ , ثَلَاثًا , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رِضَا نَفْسِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رِضَا نَفْسِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رِضَا نَفْسِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ " , وَكَانَ اسْمُهَا بَرَّةَ , فَسَمَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُوَيْرِيَةَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to me in the morning while I was reciting tasbihat. After a while, the Prophet (peace be upon him) left for some work, and then returned at midday and said: "Have you been sitting here since then?" I replied: "Yes!" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Shall I not teach you such words that if their weight is compared to your lengthy tasbihat, their scale will outweigh them? And they are: «سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ» three times, «سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ» three times, «سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رِضَا نَفْسِهِ» three times, «سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ» three times." The name of Hazrat Juwayriya was previously Barra, which the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself later changed to Juwayriya.
Hadith 27422
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ , وَحَجَّاجٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ , قَالَتْ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ وَهِيَ صَائِمَةٌ , فَقَالَ لَهَا : " أَصُمْتِ أَمْسِ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : لَا , قَالَ : " أَفَتُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَصُومِي غَدًا ؟ " , قَالَتْ : لَا ، قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَأَفْطِرِي إِذًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) that once on a Friday, "while she was fasting," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her: "Did you fast yesterday?" She replied: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Will you fast tomorrow?" She replied: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then break your fast."
Hadith 27423
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَامِرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ خَالَتِهِ أُمِّ عُثْمَانَ , عَنِ الطُّفَيْلِ ابْنِ أَخِي جُوَيْرِيَةَ , عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ لَبِسَ ثَوْبَ حَرِيرٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا , أَلْبَسَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى ثَوْبَ مَذَلَّةٍ , أَوْ ثَوْبًا مِنْ نَارٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wears a garment of silk, Allah Almighty will clothe him with a garment of fire on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 27424
حَدَّثَنَا هاشم , حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ , قَالَ : إِنَّ عُبَيْدَ بْنَ السَّبَّاقِ يَزْعُمُ , أَنَّ جُوَيْرِيَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا , فَقَالَ : " هَلْ مِنْ طَعَامٍ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : لَا وَاللَّهِ , مَا عِنْدَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا عَظْمًا مِنْ شَاةٍ أُعْطِيَتْهَا مَوْلَاتِي مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ , فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَرِّبِيهِ , فَقَدْ بَلَغَتْ مَحِلَّهَا " .

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ , حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ , حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ , حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَيُّوبَ الْعَتَكِيُّ , عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ , قَالَتْ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ وَهِيَ صَائِمَةٌ , فَقَالَ لَهَا : " أَصُمْتِ أَمْس ؟ " , قَالَتْ : لَا , قَالَ : " أَتُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَصُومِي غَدًا ؟ " , قَالَتْ : لَا , قَالَ : " فَأَفْطِرِي " .
