وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
And from the hadith of Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27394
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ , عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , حَدَّثَتْنِي عَمَّتِي أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَهَا فِي يَوْمِهَا أَوْ لَيْلَتِهَا , فَسَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ , " قَالَ كَمَا يَقُولُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the muezzin giving the call to prayer, he would repeat the same words that he was saying until he became silent.
Hadith 27395
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ , عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , كَانَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً تَطَوُّعًا غَيْرَ فَرِيضَةٍ , بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever offers twelve (nafl) rak'ahs in addition to the obligatory prayers in a day, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise."
Hadith 27396
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ عَمْرٍو , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ شَوَّالٍ , يَقُولُ : عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , قَالَتْ : " كُنَّا نُغَلِّسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِنْ جَمْعٍ إِلَى مِنًى , وَقَالَ مُرَةُ : قالت : كنا نُغَلِّسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ إِلَى مِنًى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to come from Muzdalifah at night.
Hadith 27397
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عن سالم , عَنْ أَبِي الْجَرَّاحِ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not accompany a caravan in which there are bells."
Hadith 27398
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ مَاتَ نَسِيبٌ لَهَا أَوْ قَرِيبٌ لَهَا , فَدَعَتْ بِصُفْرَةٍ , فَمَسَحَتْ بِهِ ذِرَاعَيْهَا , وَقَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَوْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ , فَإِنَّهَا تُحِدُّ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except for her husband, for whom she should mourn for four months and ten days."
Hadith 27399
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتْ النَّارُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform ablution after eating something cooked on fire.
Hadith 27400
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ , عَنْ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الْجَرَّاحِ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , عنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not accompany a caravan in which there are bells."
Hadith 27401
قال عبد الله , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَ سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ " , قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : تَعِسْتَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ لِي : كَيْفَ هُوَ ؟ قُلْتُ : حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ , عَنْ سَالِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الْجَرَّاحِ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : صَدَقْتَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not accompany a caravan in which there are bells."
Hadith 27402
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي , وَعَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيَّ ثَوْبٌ , وَفِيهِ كَانَ مَا كَانَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that I once saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing prayer, and there was one garment over both me and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and whatever was on it was on it.
Hadith 27403
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِيُّ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ , وَيَزِيدُ قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ أُخْتِهِ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , قَالَ يَزِيدُ : بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَقَالَ الْمُقْرِيُّ : زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " مَنْ صَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ , وَأَرْبَعًا بَعْدَهَا , حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّارَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever performs four rak'ahs before Zuhr and four rak'ahs after it, Allah will make his flesh forbidden for Hell."
Hadith 27404
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ , وَشُعَيْبُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ , عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ , عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ , عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أُخْتَهُ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ الَّذِي يُجَامِعُهَا فِيهِ ؟ قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ , إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ أَذًى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray in those clothes in which he slept with you?" She replied, "Yes! Provided that no impurity was visible on them."
Hadith 27405
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ , وَرَوْحٌ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ , أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ابْنُ شَوَّالٍ , أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ , " أَنَّهَا بَعَثَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ : أَنَّهُ بَعَثَ , بِهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ " , وَقَالَ يَحْيَى : " قَدَّمَهَا مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent her from Muzdalifah during the night.
Hadith 27406
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ الثَّقَفِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَدَعَتْ لَهُ بِسَوِيقٍ , فَشَرِبَ , فَقَالَتْ لَهُ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي , أَلَا تَتَوَضَّأُ , فَقَالَ : إِنِّي لَمْ أُحْدِثْ , قَالَتْ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتْ النَّارُ " .
Ibn Sa'id bin Mughira once visited Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), so she served him sattu (roasted barley flour) in a bowl to drink. Then Ibn Sa'id took some water and only rinsed his mouth. Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Nephew! Why don't you perform ablution? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: After eating something cooked on fire, perform ablution.
Hadith 27407
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَرَّاجٌ , عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , أَنَّ أُنَاسًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَأَعْلَمَهُمْ الصَّلَاةَ وَالسُّنَنَ وَالْفَرَائِضَ , ثُمَّ قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّ لَنَا شَرَابًا نَصْنَعُهُ مِنَ الْقَمْحِ وَالشَّعِيرِ , قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " الْغُبَيْرَاءُ ؟ " , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : " لَا تَطْعَمُوهُ " , ثُمَّ لَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ بِيَوْمَيْنِ , ذَكَرُوهُمَا لَهُ أَيْضًا , فَقَالَ : " الْغُبَيْرَاءُ " , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : " لَا تَطْعَمُوهُ " , ثُمَّ لَمَّا أَرَادُوا أَنْ يَنْطَلِقُوا , سَأَلُوهُ عَنْهُ , فَقَالَ : " الْغُبَيْرَاءُ ؟ " , قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : " لَا تَطْعَمُوهُ " , قَالُوا : فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَدَعُونَهَا , قَالَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَتْرُكْهَا , فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once some people from Yemen came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught them the method of prayer, its Sunnahs and obligations. Then those people said: O Messenger of Allah! We make a drink from wheat and barley. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The same one which is called «غبيراء»?" The people replied: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not drink it." Two days later, they mentioned the same thing again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again asked: "The same one which is called «غبيراء»?" This question and answer happened three times, and even while departing, the same question and answer took place. The people said that the people of Yemen will not leave it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not leave it, cut off his neck."
Hadith 27408
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ . وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ , أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ وَكَانَ أَتَى النَّجَاشِيَّ , وَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ : وَكَانَ رَحَلَ إِلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ فَمَاتَ , وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ , وَإِنَّهَا بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ , زَوَّجَهَا إِيَّاهُ النَّجَاشِيُّ , وَمَهَرَهَا أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافٍ , ثُمَّ جَهَّزَهَا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ , وَبَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ حَسَنَةَ , وَجِهَازُهَا كُلُّهُ مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّجَاشِيِّ , وَلَمْ يُرْسِلْ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ , وَكَانَ مُهُورُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was married to Ubaidullah bin Jahsh. Once, Ubaidullah went to the court of Najashi and passed away there. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then married Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) while she was still in the land of Habsha. Najashi acted as the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) representative and performed the marriage, giving her a dowry of four thousand dirhams and sending her off from his place, and sent her to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with Hazrat Sharjeel bin Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him). All these arrangements were made at Najashi’s place; the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had not sent anything to her. The dowry of the pure wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was four hundred dirhams.
Hadith 27409
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ , حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ , حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ , عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنِ الْجَرَّاحِ مَوْلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يُخْبِرُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ , أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الْعِيرُ الَّتِي فِيهَا الْجَرَسُ لَا تَصْحَبُهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not accompany a caravan in which there are bells."
Hadith 27410
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ , أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ , فَذَكَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ , يَتْلُو أَحَادِيثَ ابْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ , وَقَالَ : أَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ مَا تَلْقَى أُمَّتِي بَعْدِي , وَسَفْكَ بَعْضِهِمْ دِمَاءَ بَعْضٍ , وَسَبَقَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى , كَمَا سَبَقَ فِي الْأُمَمِ قبلهم , فَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ يُوَلِّيَنِي شَفَاعَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيهِمْ , فَفَعَلَ " , قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي : هَاهُنَا قَوْمٌ يُحَدِّثُونَ بِهِ , عَنْ أَبِي الْيَمَانِ , عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ؟ قَالَ لَيْسَ هَذَا مِنْ حَدِيثِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , إِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have seen all those things with which my Ummah will be afflicted after me, and they will shed each other's blood, and Allah Almighty had already decreed this, just as He had decreed regarding the previous nations. I requested my Lord to grant me the right of intercession for them on the Day of Judgment, and thus my Lord granted it.
Hadith 27411
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ عَاصِمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , قَالَتْ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْفَرِيضَةِ , بَنَى اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لَهُ , أَوْ قَالَ : بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever offers twelve (nafl) rak'ahs in addition to the obligatory prayers in a day, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise."
Hadith 27412
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عَمِّهِ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ , أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ , أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهَا , أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , انْكِحْ أُخْتِي ابْنَةَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ لَهَا : " أَوَتُحِبِّينَ ذَلِكَ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ , يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , لَسْتُ لَكَ بِمُخْلِيَةٍ , وَأَحَبُّ مَنْ شَرِكَنِي فِي خَيْرٍ أُخْتِي , قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِي " , فَقُلْتُ : فَوَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّا لَنَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَنْكِحَ دُرَّةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ابْنَةَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ؟ " , قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ , قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَايْمُ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ رَبِيبَتِي فِي حِجْرِي مَا حَلَّتْ لِي , إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ , وَأَرْضَعَتْنِي وَأَبَا سَلَمَةَ ثُوَيْبَةُ , فَلَا تَعْرِضْنَ عَلَيَّ بَنَاتِكُنَّ وَلَا أَخَوَاتِكُنَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Hazrat Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the presence of the Messenger of Allah and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Are you interested in my sister?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you mean?" She said that you should marry her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you like this?" She replied: "Yes! I am not your only wife, so among those who can share in goodness with me, my sister is the most deserving in my view." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "She is not lawful for me (because you are in my marriage)." She said: "By Allah! I have heard that you are going to send a marriage proposal for Durrah bint Umm Salamah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if she were lawful for me, I would not marry her because both her father (Abu Salamah) and I were suckled by Thuwaibah, the freed slave woman of Banu Hashim. In any case, do not present your sisters and daughters before me."
