حَدِيثُ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of Umm Haram bint Milhan (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27377
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ , وَهِيَ خَالَتُهُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَامَ أَوْ قَالَ فِي بَيْتِهَا , فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا يُضْحِكُكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ ظَهْرَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ الْأَخْضَرِ , كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ " , قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ , فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكِ مِنْهُمْ " , ثُمَّ نَامَ , فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا أَضْحَكَكَ ؟ قَالَ : " عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ ظَهْرَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ الْأَخْضَرِ , كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ " , قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ , قَالَ : " أَنْتِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ " , قَالَ : فَتَزَوَّجَهَا عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ , فَأَخْرَجَهَا مَعَهُ , فَلَمَّا جَازَ الْبَحْرَ بِهَا , رَكِبَتْ دَابَّةً , فَصَرَعَتْهَا , فَقَتَلَتْهَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking a nap in my house when he suddenly woke up smiling. I said, "May my father be sacrificed for you, what makes you smile?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some people from my Ummah were presented before me who were riding on the surface of the sea just as kings sit on their thrones." I said, "Pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Include her among them." After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dozed off again and this time also woke up smiling. I repeated the same question and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that some more people were presented in the same way. I said, "Pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will be among the first group." Thus, she participated in the naval expedition along with her husband Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), and she fell from her red and white mule, broke her neck, and passed away.
Hadith 27378
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتُ مِلْحَانَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ فِي بَيْتِهَا يَوْمًا , فَاسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ , فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking a nap in my house when he suddenly woke up smiling, then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith.
