حَدِيثُ أُمِّ مَالِكٍ الْبَهْزِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of Umm Malik al-Bahziyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27353
حدثنا يونس بن محمد , قال : حدثنا عبد الواحد بن زياد قال : حدثنا ليث يعني ابن أبي سُلَيْمٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي طَاوُسٌ , عَنْ أُمِّ مَالِكٍ الْبَهْزِيَّةِ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي مَالِهِ , يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ , وَيُؤَدِّي حَقَّهُ , وَرَجُلٌ آخِذٌ بِرَأْسِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , يُخِيفُهُمْ وَيُخِيفُونَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Malik Bahziya (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the time of tribulation, the best person among the people will be the one who, with his wealth, remains secluded and worships his Lord and fulfills His rights; and the other is the person who, holding the reins of his horse in the path of Allah, sets out—he frightens the enemy and the enemy frightens him."
