حَدِيثُ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27293
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ ابْنِ حَزْمٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ , يُحَدِّثُ أَبِي ، قَالَ : ذَاكَرَنِي مَرْوَانُ مَسَّ الذَّكَرِ ، فَقُلْتُ : لَيْسَ فِيهِ وُضُوءٌ , فَقَالَ : إِنَّ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتَ صَفْوَانَ تُحَدِّثُ فِيهِ , فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولًا , فَذَكَرَ الرَّسُولُ أَنَّهَا تُحَدِّثُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ , فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ " .
Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Marwan discussed with me about "touching the private part." My opinion was that touching one's private part does not break wudu, while Marwan said that in this regard Hazrat Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated a hadith to him. Eventually, Marwan sent a messenger to Hazrat Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her). The messenger came back and reported that she had narrated this hadith: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever touches his private part should perform wudu."
Hadith 27294
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو ابْنِ حَزْمٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَهُوَ مَعَ أَبِيهِ ، يُحَدِّثُ , أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ " ، قَالَ : فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولًا وَأَنَا حَاضِرٌ , فَقَالَتْ : نَعَمْ , فَجَاءَ مِنْ عِنْدِهَا بِذَاكَ.

Hadith 27295
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ هِشَامٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي , أَنَّ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتَ صَفْوَانَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ , فَلَا يُصَلِّ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private part should perform ablution."
Hadith 27296
قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ ، يَقُولُ : ذَكَرَ مَرْوَانُ فِي إِمَارَتِهِ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَنَّهُ يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ إِذَا أَفْضَى إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ بِيَدِهِ ، فَأَنْكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقُلْتُ : لَا وُضُوءَ عَلَى مَنْ مَسَّهُ , فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ , أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْكُرُ مَا يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَيُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ " , قَالَ عُرْوَةُ : فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أُمَارِي مَرْوَانَ , حَتَّى دَعَا رَجُلًا مِنْ حَرَسِهِ , فَأَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى بُسْرَةَ يَسْأَلُهَا عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ , فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ بُسْرَةُ بِمِثْلِ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنِي عَنْهَا مَرْوَانُ.
