حَدِيثُ مُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Mutalib ibn Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 27241
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ , سَمِعَ بَعْضَ أَهْلِهِ , يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ , أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي مِمَّا يَلِي بَابَ بَنِي سَهْمٍ ، وَالنَّاسُ يَمُرُّونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ سُتْرَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mutib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying in that part of the Ka'bah which is near the door of Banu Sahm. People were passing in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and there was no sutrah between the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Ka'bah.
Hadith 27242
وقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى : حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ابْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ جَدَّهُ ، يَقُولُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي مِمَّا يَلِي بَابَ بَنِي سَهْمٍ ، وَالنَّاسُ يَمُرُّونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ سُتْرَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mutib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying in that part of the Ka'bah which is near the door of Banu Sahm. Hadith 27243
قَالَ سُفْيَانُ ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , فَسَأَلْتُهُ , فَقَالَ : " لَيْسَ مِنْ أَبِي سَمِعْتُهُ ، وَلَكِنْ مِنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى مِمَّا يَلِي بَابَ بَنِي سَهْمٍ ، لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الطَّوَافِ سُتْرَةٌ " .

Hadith 27244
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " حِينَ فَرَغَ مِنْ أُسْبُوعِهِ ، أَتَى حَاشِيَةَ الطَّوَافِ ، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الطَّوَافِ أَحَدٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mutlib (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he completed the seven circuits of Tawaf, he came to the edge of the Mataf and performed two rak'ahs, while there was no sutrah between the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Mataf.
Hadith 27245
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ السَّهْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ سُورَةَ النَّجْمِ ، فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا ، وَسَجَدَ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ ، فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي ، وَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ أَسْلَمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُطَّلِبُ ، وَكَانَ بَعْدُ لَا يَسْمَعُ أَحَدًا قَرَأَهَا إِلَّا سَجَدَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mutlib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed a prostration of recitation at the verse of prostration in Surah Najm in Makkah Mukarramah, and all the people also prostrated, but I did not prostrate because I was a polytheist at that time. Later, whenever he heard its recitation from anyone, he would perform the prostration.
Hadith 27246
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ , عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ , قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سَجَدَ فِي النَّجْمِ وَسَجَدَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ ، قَالَ الْمُطَّلِبُ : وَلَمْ أَسْجُدْ مَعَهُمْ وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُشْرِكٌ , قَالَ الْمُطَّلِبُ : وَلَا أَدَعُ السُّجُودَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mutlib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the prostration of recitation at the verse of prostration in Surah An-Najm, and all the people also prostrated, but I did not prostrate because at that time I was a polytheist. Therefore, now I will never abandon this prostration.
