Hadith 27214
It is narrated from Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) that we migrated with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) solely for the pleasure of Allah, therefore our reward became due upon Allah. Now, some of us have departed from this world and did not partake of any of their reward, among them was Hazrat Mus'ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him), who was martyred at the time of the Battle of Uhud, and we could not find anything to shroud him with except a single sheet; if we covered his head, his feet would remain uncovered, and if we covered his feet, his head would remain uncovered. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us to cover his head and to place a kind of grass called 'izkhir' on his feet. And some among us are those whose fruits have ripened and they are gathering them.
Hadith 27215
Abu Ma'mar says that we asked Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite (aloud) in the Zuhr and Asr prayers?" He replied, "Yes!" We asked, "How did you know?" He said, "Because of the movement of the blessed beard of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

Qais says that we went to visit Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was engaged in the construction of his garden. Seeing us, he said that a Muslim receives reward for everything except for what he plants in this soil. He had treated himself by cauterizing his stomach seven times and was saying that if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had not forbidden us from praying for death, I would surely have prayed for it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we presented ourselves in the court of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. At that time, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah, reclining on his cloak. We said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah for us and seek help for us. Hearing this, the face of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, turned red and he said: "For the people before you, pits were dug as a punishment for accepting the religion, and saws were placed on their heads and their heads were split open, but this did not turn them away from their religion. Similarly, iron combs were taken and the flesh and nerves behind their bones were torn apart, but even this pain did not turn them away from their religion. And Allah will surely complete this religion, until a rider will travel between Sana'a and Hadramaut and he will fear none but Allah, or the attack of a wolf on his sheep, but you people are being hasty."

It is narrated from Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting at the door of the Prophet (peace be upon him) waiting for him to come out for the Zuhr prayer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) came out and said: "Listen to me." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "We are present." The Prophet (peace be upon him) again said: "Listen to me." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) again replied as before. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Soon some rulers will come over you; do not help them in their oppression, and whoever affirms their lies will never be able to come to me at the Pond of Kawthar."

Haritha says that we went to visit Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness, and he said: If I had not heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that none of you should wish for death, I would certainly have wished for it. And I have seen the time with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when I did not possess even a single dirham, and now there are forty thousand dirhams lying in the corner of my house. Then a shroud cloth was brought to him, and seeing it, he began to weep and said: But Hamza could not get a shroud, except for a patterned sheet, which if it was drawn over his head, his feet would be exposed, and if it was drawn over his feet, his head would be exposed. In the end, it was placed over his head and a type of grass called izkhir was placed over his feet.
