حَدِيثُ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of Umm Karz al-Ka‘biyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27139
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، سَمِعْتُ مِنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيَّةِ الَّتِي تُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ، وَذَهَبْتُ أَطْلُبُ مِنَ اللَّحْمِ : " عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ ، لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ ذُكْرَانًا كُنَّ أَوْ إِنَاثًا " . قَالَتْ : قَالَتْ : وَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " أَقِرُّوا الطَّيْرَ عَلَى مَكِنَاتِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say at Hudaybiyyah—while I had gone out in search of meat—that for a boy’s ‘aqiqah two goats should be sacrificed, and for a girl one goat, and it does not matter whether the animal is male or female. Hazrat Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I also heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Let the birds remain in their nests.
Hadith 27140
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَان ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : " سَمِعْتُ أَهْلَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَطُوفُونَ , وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ : الْيَوْمُ قَرْنَا عَيْنَا نَقْرَعُ الْمَرْوَتَيْنَا " .
Siba' bin Thabit says that I heard people in the time of ignorance reciting this verse during Tawaf: "Today we are cooling our eyes, for we are knocking at Marwah."
Hadith 27141
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيَّةِ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ " ذَهَبَتْ النُّبُوَّةُ وَبَقِيَتْ الْمُبَشِّرَاتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Prophethood has ended and only the things that give glad tidings remain.
Hadith 27142
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيَّةِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : سَمِعْت أَبِي يَقُولُ : سُفْيَانُ يَهِمُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثِ ، عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ سَمِعَهَا مِنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For a boy, two goats should be sacrificed for 'Aqiqah, and for a girl, one goat."
Hadith 27143
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سِبَاعُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ : " عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مِثْلَانِ ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For a boy, two goats should be sacrificed for 'Aqiqah, and for a girl, one goat."
