Hadith 27135
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نُوحُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ , وَكَانَ قَارِئًا لِلْقُرْآنِ , عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : دَاوُدُ ، قَدْ وَلَّدَتْهُ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنْ لَيْلَى ابْنَةِ قَانِفٍ الثَّقَفِيَّةِ , قَالَتْ : كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ غَسَّلَ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِهَا ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلُ مَا " أَعْطَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحِقَاءَ ، ثُمَّ الدِّرْعَ , ثُمَّ الْخِمَارَ ، ثُمَّ الْمِلْحَفَةَ ، ثُمَّ أُدْرِجَتْ بَعْدُ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْآخِرِ ، قَالَتْ : وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ الْبَابِ مَعَهُ كَفَنُهَا ، يُنَاوِلُنَاهُ ثَوْبًا ثَوْبًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Laila bint Qanif (may Allah be pleased with her) that at the time of the death of the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Hazrat Umm Kulthum (may Allah be pleased with her), I was among those who gave her the ritual bath. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first gave us an izar (lower garment), then a qamees (shirt), then a dupatta (scarf), then a lifafa (sheet), and after that she was wrapped in another cloth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at the door and the shroud was with him, which he handed to us one by one.
