It is narrated from Hazrat Judamah bint Wahb (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was about to prohibit men from approaching their wives during the period of breastfeeding, but then I was informed that the people of Persia and Rome do so, and their children are not harmed by it (therefore, I abandoned this intention)."
