حَدِيثُ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Hadith of Umm Haram bint Milhan (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27032
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ , أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِلًا فِي بَيْتِي ، إِذْ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، فَقُلْتُ : بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي أَنْتَ ، مَا يُضْحِكُكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، يَرْكَبُونَ ظَهْرَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ ، كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ " ، فَقُلْتُ : ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا مِنْهُمْ " ، ثُمَّ نَامَ أَيْضًا ، فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، فَقُلْتُ : بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي ، مَا يُضْحِكُكَ ؟ قَالَ : " عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، يَرْكَبُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ " , فَقُلْتُ : ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، فقَالَ : " أَنْتِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ " , فَغَزَتْ مَعَ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، وَكَانَ زَوْجَهَا ، فَوَقَصَتْهَا بَغْلَةٌ لَهَا شَهْبَاءُ ، فَوَقَعَتْ ، فَمَاتَتْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking a nap in my house when he suddenly woke up smiling. I asked, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, what makes you smile?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some people from my Ummah were presented before me, who were riding on the surface of the sea just as kings sit on their thrones." I said, "Pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Include her among them." After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dozed off again and this time also woke up smiling. I repeated the same question and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that some more people were presented in the same way. I said, "Pray to Allah that He includes me among them as well." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are among the first group." Thus, she participated in the naval expedition along with her husband Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), and she fell from her red and white mule, broke her neck, and passed away.
Hadith 27033
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِي ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
