Hadith of Sahla bint Suhayl ibn 'Amr and the wife of Abu Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 27005
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلَةَ امْرَأَةِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ , أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ سَالِمًا مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ ، وَهُوَ ذُو لِحْيَةٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْضِعِيهِ " , فَقَالَتْ : كَيْفَ أُرْضِعُهُ وَهُوَ ذُو لِحْيَةٍ ؟ ! فَأَرْضَعَتْهُ ، فَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا.
It is narrated from Hazrat Sahla (may Allah be pleased with her) that she once submitted in the court of the Prophet: O Messenger of Allah! Abu Hudhaifah’s slave Salim comes to me and he has a beard. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give him your milk to drink. She said: How can I give him milk to drink when he has a beard on his face? Eventually, she gave Salim her milk to drink, and then he used to come and go to her place.
