Remaining Hadith of ‘Umair, the freed slave of Abu al-Lahm
Hadith 24009/83
حدثنا حسنُ بن موسى ، حدثنا ابنُ لَهِيعة ، حدثنا محمدُ بن زيد بن المُهاجِر بن قُنْفُذ ، عن عُمَير مولى آبي اللَّحم ، قال : " رأَيتُ رسولَ الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عند أَحجارِ الزَّيْت يَستَسْقِي ، رافعًا بطنَ كَفَّيهِ "
Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'a narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Zayd ibn al-Muhajir ibn Qunfudh narrated to us, from Umair, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm, who said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at the stones of Zayt, seeking rain, raising the insides of his palms."
Hadith 24009/84
حدثنا حسنٌ ، حدثنا ابن لَهِيعة ، حدثنا محمد بن زيد بن المُهاجِر بن قُنْفُذ ، عن عُمير مولى آبي اللحم ، قال : " كنتُ أرعَى بذاتِ الجَيش ، فأَصابَتْني خَصَاصةٌ ، فذكرتُ ذلك لبعضِ أَصحابِ النبيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فدَلُّوني على حائطٍ لبعض الأنصار ، فقَطَعتُ منه أَقناءً ، فأَخَذُوني فذَهَبُوا بي إلى النبيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فأَخبرتهُ بحاجَتِي ، فأعطاني قِنْوًا واحدًا ، ورَدَّ سائِره إَلى أَهِله "
Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'a narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Zayd ibn al-Muhajir ibn Qunfudh narrated to us, from Umayr, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm, who said: "I was herding at Dhat al-Jaysh, and I was struck by hunger, so I mentioned that to some of the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and they directed me to a garden belonging to some of the Ansar. I cut some date clusters from it, and they seized me and took me to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. I informed him of my need, so he gave me one cluster and returned the rest to its owner."
Hadith 24009/85
حدثنا صَفوانُ ، حدثنا يزيدُ بن أَبي عُبيد ، عن عُمير مولى آبي اللّحم ، قال : أمَرني مولايَ أَن أُقدِّدَ له لحمًا ، قال : فجاءَ مِسكينٌ فأَطعمتُه منه ، قال : فعَلِمَ بي فضَرَبنيِ ، قال : فأَتيتُ النبيَّ صَلَي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فأَخبرتُه ، فقال : " لِمَ ضَرَبْته ؟ " ، قال : أَطعمَ طعامِي من غير أن آمُرَه ، قال : قال رسول الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الأَجْرُ بينكَما "
Safwan narrated to us, Yazid ibn Abi Ubaid narrated to us, from Umair, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm, who said: My master ordered me to cut dried meat for him. Then a poor man came, so I fed him from it. He found out about me and struck me. So I went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him. He said: "Why did you strike him?" He said: "He fed from my food without my command." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The reward is between you both."
