Musnad Ahmad

Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'a narrated to us, al-Rabi' ibn Sabrah narrated to us, from Amr ibn Murrah al-Juhani, who said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "Whoever is here from Ma'add, let him stand." He said: So I took my garment to stand, and he said: "Sit down." Then he said: "Whoever is here from Ma'add, let him stand." He said: So I took my garment to stand, and he said: "Sit down." He said it a third time, so I said: From whom are we, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "From Himyar."

Narrated to us Qutaybah ibn Sa‘id, narrated to us Ibn Lahi‘ah, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Sabrah, I heard ‘Amr ibn Murrah al-Juhani say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever is here from Ma‘add, let him stand." So I stood, and he said: "Sit down." He did that three times; each time I stood, he said: "Sit down." When it was the third time, I said: From whom are we, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "You are a group of Quda‘ah, from Himyar." ‘Amr said: I concealed this hadith for twenty years.

Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'a informed us, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far, from Isa ibn Talhah, from Amr ibn Murrah al-Juhani, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah, and that you are the Messenger of Allah, and I have performed the five prayers, paid the zakat on my wealth, and fasted the month of Ramadan. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever dies upon this will be with the Prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs on the Day of Resurrection—like this," and he raised his two fingers, "as long as he does not disobey his parents."

Yazid narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah informed us, from Ali al-Bunani, from Abu al-Hasan, from Amr ibn Murrah, that he said to Muawiyah: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "There is no governor who closes his door against one in need, or in want, or in poverty, except that Allah will close the doors of the heavens against his own need, want, and poverty."
